The Lautoka sugar mill has concluded its 2024 crushing season, and the Sugar Industry Tribunal has ordered the Rarawai Mill in Ba to cease its crushing operations on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Tribunal member Semi Leweniqila issued the directive after discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Sugar Cane Growers Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Sugar Corporation. The Tribunal has urged all sugar cane growers and harvesting teams at Rarawai Mill to do their utmost to complete the harvesting of cane and deliver it to the mill by Monday, October 14, 2024.
