The Lautoka sugar mill is concluding its 2024 crushing operations today, prompting the Sugar Industry Tribunal to announce the cessation of crushing at Rarawai Mill in Ba, effective Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Tribunal member Semi Leweniqila issued the directive following discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Sugar Cane Growers Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the Fiji Sugar Corporation.
In light of this order, the Sugar Industry Tribunal has urged all growers and harvesting teams associated with Rarawai Mill to make every effort to complete the harvesting of all cane and ensure its delivery to Rarawai Mill by Monday, October 14, 2024.
