The Fiji Sugar Corporation, in collaboration with the Sugar Cane Growers Council, has tentatively set January 11, 2026, as the completion date for the 2025 crushing season at the Rarawai Mill. This decision comes as both entities prioritize efficiency and coordination within the sugar industry.
The Sugar Tribunal will oversee the ongoing harvesting and crushing activities, ensuring that the progress is adequately monitored before making a final determination on the end date. A formal order to conclude the crushing at Rarawai Mill will be communicated seven days ahead of the scheduled date, after further discussions with both the Corporation and the Council.
Until the final directive is issued, crushing and harvesting operations will persist, allowing farmers and workers to continue their crucial roles in the sugar production process. This proactive approach is expected to foster stability within the sector as it prepares for the upcoming season.
