A man facing charges of raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter two years ago will learn his fate on September 11. He appeared for closing arguments before Justice Waleen George in Suva on Wednesday, where he is charged with two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and one count of criminal intimidation. Court documents reveal that the man was 43 years old at the time the alleged offenses took place between January 1 and April 1, 2022. He is also accused of unlawfully threatening the victim by claiming he would poison her with paraquat. The accused is represented by lawyer Iqbal Khan, while prosecutor Pooja Mishra is representing the State.
