Damodar North Pte Limited has unveiled the name of its new hotel in Labasa, which will be called the Ramada Encore by Wyndham-Damodar City Labasa. This company is a subsidiary of the well-known Damodar Group, which is prominent in the cinema industry.

CEO Div Damodar stated that this development signifies the introduction of Labasa’s first international hotel brand, enhancing the town’s profile in Fiji’s tourism sector. He noted that “This is the first branded hotel to open in Vanua Levu and includes 40 rooms, three suites, an 80-seat conference area, a pool, a gym, an outdoor entertainment space, as well as bar and restaurant facilities.”

Set to open later this year, the hotel is strategically designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Mr. Damodar emphasized that the hotel will have a positive impact on Labasa’s economy.

He remarked, “The introduction of an international hotel brand in Labasa is anticipated to encourage further development in the local tourism industry. The presence of Ramada Encore will create more opportunities for tourism activities in Vanua Levu, particularly in the scenic regions surrounding Labasa.”

According to Mr. Damodar, the hotel is expected to become a central hub for tourism activities in Labasa. The Ramada Encore by Wyndham – Damodar City Labasa will be managed by Damodar North Pte Limited, guaranteeing a luxurious experience akin to Ramada Encore hotels globally.

This new establishment is part of the larger Damodar City Labasa project, a significant commercial development that has seen Damodar North Pte Limited invest $60 million, with $10 million dedicated to the hotel’s construction and fit-out. This investment underscores the company’s dedication to boosting Labasa’s tourism appeal, an area rich in untapped potential.
