Ramada Encore: A New Era for Labasa’s Tourism

Damodar North Pte Limited has unveiled the name of its new hotel in Labasa: the Ramada Encore by Wyndham-Damodar City Labasa. This division of the prominent Damodar Group, known for its cinema ventures, marks a significant entry into the local hospitality scene.

Div Damodar, the company’s CEO, highlighted that this establishment is the first international hotel brand in Labasa, enhancing the town’s stature within Fiji’s tourism sector. “This is the first branded hotel in Vanua Levu, featuring 40 rooms, three suites, an 80-seater conference area, a pool, a gym, and outdoor entertainment space along with a bar and restaurant,” Mr. Damodar mentioned.

The hotel, set to open later this year, aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Mr. Damodar expressed confidence that the new venue will stimulate the local economy and contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in Labasa.

He added that the presence of Ramada Encore will create increased opportunities for tourism development in Vanua Levu, particularly in the scenic areas surrounding Labasa. The goal is for the hotel to become a central point for tourism activities in the region.

Managed by Damodar North Pte Limited, Ramada Encore by Wyndham-Damodar City Labasa promises a luxurious experience comparable to other Ramada Encore hotels globally. This new hotel is also a part of the broader Damodar City Labasa project, which is a significant commercial development that has seen an investment of $60 million, of which $10 million has been allocated for the hotel’s construction and furnishings.

This investment underscores the company’s dedication to enhancing Labasa’s tourism appeal, tapping into the region’s potential.
