A fishing expedition in Navatu, Rakiraki has ended in tragedy, resulting in the death of one man and leaving another unaccounted for. The body of a man in his twenties was recovered on Sunday afternoon, while search efforts are ongoing for his brother-in-law, who remains missing.
The two men, related by marriage, embarked on their fishing trip late Saturday night, with plans to return by Sunday morning. Their absence raised alarms among family members, prompting authorities to initiate a search operation.
