The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is alerting customers in regions typically affected by high turbidity at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant about possible water supply interruptions. This advisory comes amid ongoing heavy rainfall, which is likely to significantly impact the quality of water in source streams, posing challenges for water treatment processes.

As a consequence, there may be a decrease in water production at the Tamavua facility. Areas that could potentially experience disruptions include:

– Mika Drue Place and Pathik Crescent
– Mead Road, along with Volavola Road, Evetts Place, and Top Shop Road
– Elevated regions along Lakha Singh Road, including Sakoca Road
– High areas along Tacirua Road, encompassing Raibevu Road and Tacirua Heights
– MH Superfresh, Upper Mead Road, and Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to the Loa Street Junction
– Princes Road from Joes Farm to Sawani Service Station
– Various Upper Delanivesi Areas, Upper Lami Village Road, Kalekana Settlement Road, and Muaivuso Village

WAF teams are diligently monitoring conditions and are committed to managing production levels in an effort to minimize the impact on residents’ water supply.

It’s important for the community to stay informed during such weather events and to prepare accordingly for potential inconveniences. This proactive approach by WAF not only illustrates their dedication to service continuity but also highlights the importance of community preparedness in the face of natural challenges.
