Adi Cakobau School (ACS) and Suva Grammar School (SGS) have been awarded the Under-19 girls’ championship title at the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship held in Lautoka. The final match was interrupted for 20 minutes in the final quarter due to heavy rain, creating slippery conditions that made the court unsafe. At the time of the stoppage, ACS was ahead with a score of 21-18 with seven minutes left in the game.
In light of the weather conditions and the focus on player safety, the event organizers made the decision to declare both ACS and SGS as joint winners.
In the boys’ competition, Marist Brothers High School triumphed in the Under-19 boys’ division, securing the title with a narrow 28-24 victory over Yat Sen Secondary School, bringing the trophy to Kaunikuila.
