Persistent wet weather in the capital has disrupted final preparations for the BiC Fiji FACT semifinals, prompting the Fiji Football Association to relocate the 2025 Presidents Cup. The event will now be held at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour due to unplayable conditions at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
As teams geared up for the semifinals, the rain posed challenges. Labasa FC, which traveled to Suva, focused on rest while settling into their accommodations. In contrast, Rewa FC faced significant disruptions, as their training sessions in Nausori were cut short over the last couple of days due to the relentless rainfall. Coach Rodeck Singh expressed concern over the impacts on their preparation.
Tournament hosts Suva FC opted for a rest day yesterday to ensure their players would be fresh for today’s key matches. Defending champions Lautoka utilized the day for a mental reset, emphasizing the importance of staying focused amidst the weather challenges.
The matches are set to kick off with Lautoka taking on Labasa at 2 PM followed by Suva facing Rewa at 4:20 PM. Fans can tune in for live commentary on Radio Fiji Two.
