Emergency operations centers in the Western Division of Fiji will remain operational as the Fiji Meteorological Service has forecast continued rainfall throughout the weekend. Today, food rations have been successfully distributed to 61 families currently residing in evacuation centers in Nadi. These families are among those affected by earlier flooding this week and are temporarily sheltering at Andrews Primary School, Saioni Church, Korovuto Secondary School, and the Vou Dance Group Office.
Various faith-based organizations, non-governmental groups, businesses, and the Ministry of Health have been actively participating in relief efforts by providing cooked meals, bottled water, food supplies, and hygiene kits to those in need at the evacuation centers.
