A police operation in Wairuku, Rakiraki, led to the uncovering of suspected illegal drugs and the subsequent arrest of four individuals. The raid, carried out by the Western Division operations team on a recent Tuesday, revealed several clear plastic bags containing what appears to be dried leaves thought to be marijuana, as well as substances believed to be methamphetamine.
In addition to the drugs, law enforcement officials confiscated a variety of items, including mobile phones, syringes, packaging materials, and both local and foreign currency, which authorities suspect are tied to illicit activities. The primary suspect, a 21-year-old man, was arrested alongside three others aged 44, 24, and 18. The seized substances are currently undergoing laboratory analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
