A collaborative effort involving officers from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional operations team resulted in a successful raid in Nadonumai, leading to the arrest of three individuals for suspected illegal possession of drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, stated that the task force was sent to the Nadonumai area to conduct two separate raids. One of these operations uncovered substances believed to be marijuana, as well as electronic devices thought to have been stolen and equipment indicative of drug packaging.
The three suspects are currently in custody at the Lami Police Station as authorities continue their investigations. Driu emphasized the importance of these operations, especially during the festive season, aiming to disrupt criminal networks and apply pressure on their operations. He also highlighted that cooperation with the public is crucial in the ongoing fight against drug-related crime.
In a call for community involvement, ACP Driu encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities by contacting Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive approach showcases law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring public safety and combating illegal drug activities, providing hope that communities can work together toward a safer environment this holiday season.
