Raffe Hotels Unveils Fiji Community Trust to Double Guest Donations

Raffe Hotels & Resorts has recently unveiled the Malolo Lailai Community Trust, a significant initiative aimed at strengthening and empowering local communities in the region. The company, which operates renowned properties such as Plantation Island Resort, Lomani Island Resort & Spa, and Fiji Gateway Hotel, emphasized its commitment to fostering sustainable relationships with surrounding communities.

Situated on Malolo Lailai Island in the picturesque Mamanuca Islands, the trust aims to provide financial support through an application process focused on five core areas: education, health, environmental care, emergency relief, and community wellbeing. Raffe Hotels & Resorts stated that the mission of the trust is to deliver targeted assistance where it is most needed, promoting community-led partnerships and enhancing long-term resilience.

According to Lee Pearce, CEO of Raffe Hotels & Resorts, their guests often express a desire to contribute to the local communities that enrich their experiences in Fiji. This feedback inspired the establishment of the trust. Over the years, guests and staff have engaged in various philanthropic efforts, including donating school supplies and providing aid during emergencies.

The newly formed Malolo Lailai Community Trust aims to streamline these initiatives, creating a sustainable framework for generosity. Guests staying at any Raffe hotels can opt to make a small voluntary donation, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the resorts to double the impact of each contribution. These collective funds will be allocated through a transparent grant system, with updates provided to donors about how their money is being utilized.

Although this represents the first formal charitable structure for Raffe Hotels & Resorts, the organization has a longstanding history of active community support, focusing on education, environmental restoration, and health initiatives. Pearce noted that the previous projects have made a meaningful difference, and the trust will enable the expansion and sustainability of these efforts.

The company encourages community leaders to apply for funding for initiatives aligned with the trust’s focus areas in 2026, such as solar power installations, infrastructure repairs, and health programs. Pearce views this as a pivotal moment in the journey toward deeper community collaboration, highlighting that every guest contributes to the overall welfare of the people that make Fiji a cherished destination.

Through this initiative, Raffe Hotels & Resorts aims to create lasting positive changes that will benefit local communities for generations to come, ensuring that support is both meaningful and sustainable.
