Radradra’s Potential Mid-Season Move: What Could This Mean for Lyon?

Semi Radradra, the centre for Fiji’s Flying Fijians, might be leaving French Top 14 team Lyon mid-season to join a Japanese club. The 32-year-old player has a contract with Lyon until June 2025, but sources indicate he has received multiple offers from Top League teams and may accept one soon.

Despite being 32, this potential move could be one of the most financially rewarding of Radradra’s career. His time at Lyon has been challenging, as he has made only fifteen appearances and scored one try since joining the club.

In preparation for Radradra’s possible exit, Lyon is reportedly looking for replacements. They have expressed interest in Fijian Drua’s Iosefo Mafi and have also reached out to Toulouse’s Ange Capuozzo and Timoci Tavatavanawai from the Highlanders.

Radradra has played 20 test matches for the Flying Fijians, including participation in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and has scored six tries for his national team while showcasing his versatility in multiple positions such as wing, centre, and fullback.
