Radradra’s Potential Mid-Season Move Shakes Up Rugby Landscape

Semi Radradra, the Fiji Water Flying Fijians center, might leave the French Top 14 club Lyon mid-season to join a Japanese franchise. The 32-year-old is contracted with LOU until June 2025, but reports indicate he has received multiple offers from Top League clubs and is likely to accept one of them.

Despite being 32, this move could be one of the most financially rewarding of Radradra’s career. His tenure at Lyon has been challenging, with only fifteen appearances and one try scored since he joined the club.

In response to Radradra’s potential departure, Lyon is reportedly exploring options for a replacement. They are reportedly interested in Fijian Drua’s Iosefo Mafi as a candidate, and have also inquired about Toulouse’s Ange Capuozzo and Timoci Tavatavanawai from the Highlanders.

Radradra has made 20 test appearances for the Flying Fijians, including participation in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and has scored six tries for the national team. His adaptability has allowed him to play in various positions such as wing, center, and fullback.
