Semi Radradra may be poised to leave Lyon mid-season, with reports indicating that the Fijian centre could join a franchise in Japan. Despite being under contract with LOU until June 2025, the 32-year-old international has received multiple offers from Top League clubs and is expected to accept one.
Radradra’s potential move would come during a challenging period at Lyon, where he has made only fifteen appearances and scored a single try since joining the club. In the aftermath of Radradra’s anticipated departure, Lyon is reportedly searching for his replacement. They have expressed interest in Iosefo Mafi from Fijian Drua, as well as Toulouse’s Ange Capuozzo and Timoci Tavatavanawai from the Highlanders.
Originally from Suva, Radradra began his career in Sevens before moving to rugby league, joining the Parramatta Eels in Australia’s NRL in 2013. He made an impressive impact, playing 94 games and scoring 82 tries. After transitioning to rugby union in 2017 with Toulon, he played 21 games and scored nine tries over two seasons. Subsequently, he joined Bordeaux Bègles, where he scored ten tries in 22 appearances, becoming a vital part of their squad.
Radradra’s stellar performances in France led him to the English Premiership with the Bristol Bears from 2020 to 2023, where he made 53 appearances and scored 18 tries, contributing to their European Challenge Cup victory in 2020. He has also represented Fiji in 20 test matches, including the 2019 Rugby World Cup, scoring six tries and showcasing his versatility across multiple positions such as wing, centre, and fullback.
