Radradra Set for Mid-Season Move: What’s Next for the Rugby Star?

Semi Radradra may be on the verge of leaving Lyon mid-season, with speculation indicating that the Fijian center is poised to join a team in Japan’s Top League. The 32-year-old international, who has earned 20 caps for Fiji, is under contract with LOU until June 2025. However, reports suggest he has received multiple lucrative offers from Top League clubs and is likely to accept one.

Radradra’s time at Lyon has been challenging, as he has only made 15 appearances and scored a single try since his arrival. In anticipation of his potential exit, Lyon is reportedly exploring replacement options, showing interest in Iosefo Mafi of the Fijian Drua, as well as Toulouse’s Ange Capuozzo and Timoci Tavatavanawai from the Highlanders.

Originally from Suva, Radradra began his professional career in rugby league with the Parramatta Eels in Australia’s NRL in 2013, where he played 94 matches and scored 82 tries. He transitioned to rugby union in 2017, signing with Toulon, and later joined Bordeaux Bègles, contributing significantly to their backline.

Radradra also had a successful stint in the English Premiership with the Bristol Bears from 2020 to 2023, making 53 appearances and scoring 18 tries, and helping the team secure the European Challenge Cup in 2020. He has represented Fiji in 20 test matches, scoring six tries, and has showcased his versatility by playing across various positions, including wing, center, and fullback.
