In a commendable community effort, staff from Radisson Blu Resort in Nadi participated in a beach clean-up at Wailoaloa as part of a month-long community engagement initiative. This activity was organized under the resort’s responsible business initiative, which pivots on the values of thinking about people, community, and the planet.

A dedicated team of 38 staff members, led by Human Resources Director Sharon Work, began their day early at 7 AM, focused on cleaning New Town Beach. Remarkably, they collected one tonne of rubbish, which was properly disposed of, assisting in the restoration of the coastal environment and safeguarding marine life. This initiative underscores the resort’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community support.

Additionally, the resort conducted a health check and a blood donation drive, further emphasizing its dedication to community well-being. General Manager Charles Homsy expressed pride in the commitment and spirit exhibited by the staff, stating that these efforts reflect the essence of the resort’s values and commitment to caring for the community.

The Radisson Blu Resort’s ongoing responsible business initiatives illustrate its dedication to sustainable practices and community upliftment, aligning with similar efforts previously undertaken, such as health checks and programs in local villages like Bukuya. Such engagements exemplify the resort’s focus on fostering a positive impact in the regions it operates. These actions not only restore the environment but also aim to strengthen community ties and promote sustainability.

Overall, the clean-up at Wailoaloa beach represents a hopeful step towards a cleaner and more responsible future, rallying support and action for the benefit of the local community and environment. The enthusiasm of the Radisson Blu team serves as an encouraging reminder of the power of collective community service in making a meaningful difference.
