Corporate social responsibility is increasingly adopted by businesses, and Radisson Blu Resort Fiji exemplifies this by embracing the Radisson Hotel Group values of “Think People, Community, and Planet” as part of its commitment to responsible business practices.
The resort recently executed several “Responsible Business” projects in Nadi, extending efforts to Bukuya Village, located in the interior of Viti Levu. With the guidance of Responsible Business manager Satya Narayan and the enthusiastic involvement of resort guests, the team engaged in various activities aimed at supporting local communities.
Activities included staff health checks, blood donation drives, and cooking classes for village schools. In Bukuya Village, Chef Walter and his culinary team from the resort held an interactive cooking session at the local school, where children enjoyed learning cooking skills in a lively setting.
According to the resort, the session concluded with a delicious lunch provided for the children, promoting joy and nourishment. The resort also identified areas for improvement during the visit and plans to make donations later in the year.
Additionally, Radisson Blu Resort expanded its support to Saint Mina’s Children’s Home in Legalega, Nadi. Throughout the week, the engineering and landscaping team dedicated their time to constructing a greenhouse for the home and preparing soil for planting vegetables.
Volunteers, including resort staff and guests, collaborated to establish a garden that encourages sustainable living. This initiative not only offered the children practical gardening experience but also educated them on the significance of fresh food and self-reliance. The garden is intended to be a long-term resource, promoting a sense of responsibility and connection to nature for the children.
