Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has candidly expressed that he is feeling overwhelmed by his current workload and plans to reallocate some ministerial portfolios in the upcoming year. At present, Rabuka encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including Foreign Affairs, Climate Change, Civil Service, Public Enterprises, Police, and Immigration.
The Prime Minister, at 76 years old, indicated that the extensive duties are taking a toll on him personally. He highlighted that he often finds himself working late into the night to manage the numerous ministerial files that come across his desk. He believes that by redistributing these portfolios, he could enhance his effectiveness as a leader.
This decision reflects a commitment from Rabuka to prioritize effective governance and ensure that each portfolio receives the attention it deserves. In the long run, this could lead to better management and implementation of policies that benefit the citizens.
As he prepares for this transition, it underscores the importance of leadership adaptability and the need for effective delegation to foster a productive government. This proactive step may inspire others within political circles to consider workload management as a vital aspect of governance.
