Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is set to travel to the United States to participate in the national presidential prayer breakfast, an event that fosters dialogue among US senators, congress members, and international leaders focused on faith and governance. Mr. Rabuka expressed his honor at being invited to deliver the opening prayer at the gathering.
While it remains unclear whether former President Trump will be present in person or joining virtually, Mr. Rabuka is looking forward to the event. His itinerary also includes meeting with the Fijian diaspora in California during his trip. When asked about potentially addressing climate concerns related to the Paris Agreement with Trump, Rabuka clarified that no official talks have been scheduled, indicating that any discussion would not happen without proper clearance.
The national presidential prayer breakfast has a rich history, having included the participation of US presidents and global leaders since 1953.
This visit presents an opportunity for Prime Minister Rabuka to strengthen Fiji’s connections with the international community and engage with expatriates, promoting collaboration for the future.
