Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced plans to redistribute some of his ministerial responsibilities as he grapples with an overwhelming workload. At 76 years old, Rabuka currently oversees several crucial portfolios, including Foreign Affairs, Climate Change, Civil Service, Public Enterprises, Police, and Immigration.
In a candid admission, the Prime Minister expressed that the extensive demands of his role are taking a toll on him, often leading him to sacrifice sleep to manage ministerial documentation. He believes that by reallocating some portfolios, he can enhance his effectiveness as a leader and better fulfill his duties.
This move could not only alleviate some of the pressure Rabuka faces but may also lead to a more focused and efficient government as it allows other ministers to take on specific responsibilities. By prioritizing the delegation of tasks, the government can potentially improve its responsiveness to the needs of the public and better address the pressing issues facing the nation.
In a hopeful light, such changes in leadership dynamics could foster collaboration and innovation within the cabinet, ultimately benefiting the citizens of Fiji.
