Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has issued a clear directive to the permanent secretaries of various ministries, urging them to act with fairness and responsibility.
Rabuka’s statement addresses concerns regarding past practices of favoritism and indifference in the appointment processes within the ministries.
He underscored the importance of adhering to the constitutional powers vested in permanent secretaries.
“Continue to work in accordance with the powers given to you by the Constitution,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need for permanent secretaries to be responsive to the needs of citizens and align with the government’s political directives.
“Be aware of the demands of the people and the political government of the nation,” Rabuka urged.
