Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is set to begin a 10-day official visit to China on Monday. This marks his inaugural trip to China since he assumed office in December 2022.
Mao Ning, a spokeswoman from the Foreign Ministry, stated that the visit will include extensive discussions between the leaders of the two nations on significant issues of mutual interest.
This year, China has already welcomed several leaders from Pacific Island countries, and Rabuka is the latest among them, highlighting the strong ties between China and the South Pacific region.
Mao expressed China’s intention to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership with Fiji and collaborate to build a more united community with a shared future involving China and the Pacific Island nations. Notably, Fiji was the first Pacific Island country to establish diplomatic relations with China.
