Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently on a two-day official visit aimed at enhancing relations with New Zealand and celebrating Fiji Day with the Fijian community in Aotearoa. During his visit, Rabuka engaged with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, and New Zealand’s Minister for Climate Change, Simon Watts. Accompanying him were Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lesi Korovavala, and his wife, Sulueti Rabuka.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to discuss important topics such as regional security, economic collaboration, and climate change, in line with the Fiji-New Zealand Duavata Partnership.
Rabuka has also been invited to preside over the Fiji Day celebrations at Mangere Centre Park in Auckland. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica will assume the role of Acting Prime Minister.
Following his visit to New Zealand, Rabuka plans to travel to Samoa for the upcoming CHOGAM next Wednesday.
