Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is currently on a two-day official visit to New Zealand aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and celebrating Fiji Day with the Fijian community in Aotearoa.
During his visit, Rabuka has met with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, and New Zealand’s Minister for Climate Change, Simon Watts. He is accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lesi Korovavala, and his wife, Sulueti Rabuka.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to address important topics of cooperation, including regional security, economic partnerships, and climate change, as part of the Fiji-New Zealand Duavata Partnership.
Additionally, Rabuka has been invited to lead the Fiji Day celebrations at Mangere Centre Park in Auckland. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
Following his visit to New Zealand, Rabuka will head to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) next Wednesday.
