Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has assured the public that any formal complaints will undergo a thorough evaluation before any actions are implemented.
In light of recent concerns regarding images involving FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku, and Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga, Rabuka emphasized that these officials were appointed by legitimate authorities and the matters arising during their tenure will be addressed by the appropriate channels.
He noted that any decision concerning suspensions or actions against those involved will be made by the Constitutional Officers’ Commission (COC) and other applicable organizations.
“The decision to suspend will originate from the Commission since it pertains to individuals appointed by the COC as well as others by different bodies,” he stated.
Rabuka mentioned that it is crucial to wait for the decisions from these entities before proceeding with any suspensions.
“Once that decision is reached, the relevant investigative bodies will assess the situations and suggest the subsequent actions, which could be either termination or reinstatement,” he added.
The Prime Minister reiterated his Government’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that due processes are adhered to in every instance.
