Ra High School is determined to defend its title after making history last year by clinching the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Vodafone Trophy in the under-19 category for the first time. The pride that their victory instilled in their province continues to fuel their ambition, as they strive to hold onto the trophy for as long as possible.
As a Year 13 student from Ra High noted, the team is fully aware of the fierce competition this season, especially from formidable rivals like Ratu Kadavulevu School and Marist Brothers High School, who are also vying for the championship. They are prepared for the challenges ahead and are committed to working hard to maintain their winning status.
“We know it won’t be easy, and we will not give up the title that easily. The past few weeks have been tough, where temptations to give up have arisen, particularly when it comes to our diet and maintaining peak physical condition. However, we hold onto our school’s motto that with God, everything is possible,” the student remarked.
Ra High School achieved their remarkable victory last year by narrowly defeating Naitasiri Secondary School with a score of 24-20 in the final. The excitement is set to continue as the FSSRL Vodafone Trophy competition kicks off tomorrow across various zones in the country, and fans are eager to see if Ra High can defend their title against the competition. This ongoing commitment to hard work and determination encapsulates the spirit of Ra High School and the hopes of their supporters.
