QVS Triumphs Again: Victory Secured in U18 Super Deans Final

Queen Victoria School (QVS) successfully defended their U18 Vodafone Super Deans title, defeating Nasinu Secondary School with a decisive score of 27-13 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

QVS made a strong start, with hooker Waisake Vakacere scoring the first try in the 12th minute. Fullback Nathan Stephens converted the try, giving QVS an early lead of 7-0. The advantage grew to 12-0 when winger Joleni Raiyawa added another try in the 19th minute.

Nasinu’s Samuela Ravoci kept his team in contention with two penalty goals, reducing the deficit to 12-6. However, Nathan Stephens responded with a penalty for QVS, taking the halftime score to 15-6.

Early in the second half, openside flanker Ilaitia Rakuro extended QVS’s lead with a try in the corner, making it 20-6. Asaeli Gade further secured the victory with another try, putting the game beyond Nasinu’s reach.

In the closing moments, Nasinu managed to score their first try through Sionasa Verenasau, but it was too late for a comeback, allowing QVS to celebrate their well-deserved victory.
