Queen Victoria School claimed victory in the U18 Vodafone Super Deans tournament, successfully defending their title with a 27-13 win over Nasinu Secondary School at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
The match began with an impressive performance from QVS, as hooker Waisake Vakacere scored the first try in the 12th minute, converted by fullback Nathan Stephens, giving them an early lead of 7-0. They continued to dominate, with winger Joleni Raiyawa adding another try in the 19th minute, extending their lead to 12-0.
Nasinu responded through Samuela Ravoci, who scored two penalty kicks to reduce the deficit to 12-6. However, Stephens struck again with a penalty for QVS, bringing the halftime score to 15-6 in favor of the defending champions.
In the second half, openside flanker Ilaitia Rakuro increased the lead for QVS, scoring in the corner to make it 20-6. Asaeli Gade later sealed the match with another try, putting Nasinu out of contention.
