QVS Reclaims Super Deans Trophy: A Captain’s Pride

Queen Victoria School’s under-18 captain Anare Tabakaucoro expressed great pride in his team’s triumph in the Super Deans Trophy final against Nasinu Secondary School. He credited their success to hard work, unity, and determination throughout the season.

The defending champions regained their title with a convincing 27-13 win in the final, held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday. Tabakaucoro confidently remarked that the match was not challenging for them, as they had faith in God and were focused on fulfilling their roles to secure the victory.

He commended the team’s performance, attributing it to their coach’s guidance before the game. “It wasn’t a hard game for us because we have faith in the almighty God; we just came here to do our job and get the win,” said Tabakaucoro. “The message from the coach was to avoid putting pressure on ourselves and to enjoy the game.”

Despite facing challenges in their daily lives, the players united as a team. “I am really proud of the boys’ performance and teamwork. Even though we encounter difficulties in our daily lives, we managed to come together and play for each other and our families.”

As he enters his final year at the school, Tabakaucoro is now focusing on preparing for his exams and hopes to excel. He expressed his gratitude to the teachers, parents, fans, and supporters of QVS for their steadfast support.
