This win is a significant turnaround from last year’s encounter, where RKS emerged victorious with a score of 40-36 in a fiercely fought final.
Head coach Seremaia Waqanisau expressed his pride in the team’s performance, crediting their diligent preparation for the match. “Preparations were good; the boys really prepared well for this match, and getting the win makes me proud of their performance,” he stated. Waqanisau acknowledged the challenges faced in the first half, highlighting the team’s focus on defense and solid tackling as key to their success.
“It was a tough first half. My message to the boys was to work on our defense and keep hard on our tackles, and that’s how we secured the win,” he explained. Facing a strong opponent in RKS, the QVS Old Boys exhibited remarkable resilience and determination throughout the match, ultimately leading to their hard-fought victory.
Coach Waqanisau also took the opportunity to thank the old boys of QVS and the enthusiastic supporters who flooded the venue to back their team, creating an electric atmosphere during the match.
