Defending champions Queen Victoria School advanced to the semifinals of the Vodafone Deans U18 competition with a 13-6 win against Marist Brothers High School in the last quarterfinal match held at the HFC Bank Stadium today.
QVS began the match with a strong performance, scoring their first try in the 20th minute, followed by another try just two minutes later. This quick scoring spree established a 13-3 lead at halftime, putting Marist in a challenging position.
In the second half, despite their early advantage, QVS was unable to increase their score as Marist strengthened their defense and managed to score a penalty kick, narrowing the gap to 13-6. Nonetheless, QVS’s defense held strong, showcasing their tenacity and commitment to maintaining their lead.
In the final minutes of the game, Marist put forth a significant effort to score, but QVS remained resolute, successfully preventing any additional points from being scored against them.
