Defending champions Queen Victoria School (QVS) advanced to the semifinals of the Vodafone Deans U18 competition after securing a 13-6 victory over Marist Brothers High School in the last quarterfinal match held at HFC Bank Stadium.
QVS made an impressive start, scoring their first try in the 20th minute, followed by another two minutes later. This quick scoring spree allowed them to establish a 13-3 lead by halftime, putting Marist under pressure.
In the second half, QVS was unable to extend their lead as Marist tightened their defense and responded with a penalty kick, narrowing the score to 13-6. Despite Marist’s efforts, QVS maintained a strong defensive stance, demonstrating great determination to hold onto their lead.
As the match drew to a close, Marist intensified their attempts to score, but QVS’s defense remained resolute, ultimately preventing any further points from their opponents.
