QVS Clinches U18 Super Deans Title with Thrilling Victory

Queen Victoria School (QVS) successfully retained their U18 Vodafone Super Deans title with a decisive 27-13 win over Nasinu Secondary School at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

QVS began the match strongly, with hooker Waisake Vakacere scoring the first try in the 12th minute, which was converted by fullback Nathan Stephens for an early 7-0 lead. They increased their lead to 12-0 in the 19th minute when winger Joleni Raiyawa added another try.

Nasinu striker Samuela Ravoci kept his team competitive by converting two penalty kicks, bringing the score to 12-6. However, QVS’s Nathan Stephens extended the lead to 15-6 before halftime with another penalty.

In the second half, openside flanker Ilaitia Rakuro scored in the corner, further widening the gap to 20-6. Asaeli Gade later sealed the victory for QVS with another try, making it difficult for Nasinu to respond.

Although Nasinu managed to score their first try through Sionasa Verenasau in the closing minutes, it was too late for a comeback, allowing QVS to celebrate their hard-fought victory.
