QVS Clinches U18 Super Deans Title with Dominant Win

Queen Victoria School successfully retained their U18 Vodafone Super Deans title with a decisive 27-13 win over Nasinu Secondary School at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The match began with QVS establishing dominance early on. Hooker Waisake Vakacere scored the opening try in the 12th minute, which was converted by fullback Nathan Stephens, giving QVS a 7-0 lead. They further increased their advantage with another try from winger Joleni Raiyawa in the 19th minute, extending the score to 12-0.

Nasinu tried to fight back with two penalty kicks from Samuela Ravoci, closing the score to 12-6, but QVS responded with a penalty kick from Stephens, making it 15-6 at halftime.

In the second half, openside flanker Ilaitia Rakuro added to QVS’s score with a try in the corner, pushing the lead to 20-6. Asaeli Gade then capped off the victory with another try, putting the game beyond Nasinu’s reach.

In the closing moments, Nasinu managed to score their first try thanks to Sionasa Verenasau, but it was too late for a comeback, allowing QVS to celebrate their hard-fought victory.
