QVS Claims Victory and Defends U18 Super Deans Title!

Queen Victoria School successfully retained their U18 Vodafone Super Deans championship by defeating Nasinu Secondary School with a score of 27-13 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The match commenced with a strong performance from QVS, as hooker Waisake Vakacere scored the first try in the 12th minute, which was converted by fullback Nathan Stephens, establishing an early lead of 7-0.

QVS extended their lead further in the 19th minute when winger Joleni Raiyawa crossed the line for another try, bringing the score to 12-0. Nasinu’s Samuela Ravoci kept his team competitive by successfully converting two penalty kicks, reducing the deficit to 12-6.

Nathan Stephens responded by adding a penalty kick for QVS, which brought the halftime score to 15-6 in their favor.

In the second half, openside flanker Ilaitia Rakuro increased the lead to 20-6 with a try early in the half. Asaeli Gade later secured the win for QVS with an additional try, making it clear that the defending champions were in control.

Although Nasinu managed to score their first try late in the game through Sionasa Verenasau, it came too late to impact the outcome, allowing Queen Victoria School to celebrate their well-deserved victory.
