QVS Captain Leads Team to Glory in Super Deans Trophy Triumph

Anare Tabakaucoro, the under-18 captain of Queen Victoria School, expressed great pride following his team’s triumph in the Super Deans Trophy final against Nasinu Secondary School. He credited their accomplishment to hard work, unity, and determination evident throughout the season.

The defending champions secured their title with a strong 27-13 win at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday. Tabakaucoro stated that the game was manageable for them, as they maintained faith in God and concentrated on executing their strategy to achieve victory.

He emphasized the importance of his coach’s guidance leading into the final, stating, “It wasn’t a hard game for us because we have faith in the almighty God. We just came here to do our job and get the win.” Additionally, he mentioned the coach’s message, which encouraged the team to avoid pressure and simply enjoy the game.

Despite personal challenges in their everyday lives, the players united as a cohesive team. “I’m really proud of the boys’ performance and teamwork. Even though we face challenges in our daily lives, we managed to work together and play for each other and our families,” Tabakaucoro noted.

As he approaches his final year at the school, Tabakaucoro is now focused on preparing for his exams and striving to excel. He also expressed gratitude to the teachers, parents, fans, and supporters of Queen Victoria School for their steadfast encouragement.
