This financial aid is critical, given VF’s policy aimed at addressing cyclone threats specifically for coral reefs situated north of Lau, which focuses on reef restoration and support for community livelihoods in the aftermath of natural disasters.
The payout was initiated by PCRIC after an evaluation of potential losses, conducted by the weather technology company Reask, which determined that a payment amounting to 10 percent of the policy coverage was justified.
