Defending champions Dominion Brothers have successfully secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the 2025 McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s Youth Division by winning both of their pool matches. Their impressive performance demonstrates their commitment to not only defending their title but also nurturing young talent within their team.

Joining Dominion Brothers in the quarter-finals is the Japan U-18 side, who clinched a 24-14 victory against Village Boys earlier today. Another international contender, SunnyBank, also progressed after narrowly defeating Saunaka 17-15, highlighting the competitive nature of this year’s tournament.

The youth division quarter-finals will commence at 3:30 PM this afternoon, setting the stage for thrilling matchups among the aspiring rugby talents.

In the women’s division, the New Zealand Women’s 7s team and Mount Masada are anticipated to be the frontrunners. On the men’s side, the Fiji 7s team, Australia Select 7s, and New Zealand 7s team are currently the highest-seeded competitors.

However, the journey to the quarter-finals is not straightforward for all teams. Teams such as the Mike Friday Select, Drua 7s, Manu Samoa, Ratu Filise, and BLK Lavidi must secure victories in their remaining pool games to advance.

This year’s Coral Coast 7s is more than just a competition—it serves as a vital platform for young athletes to exhibit their skills, instilling hope for the future of rugby both locally and internationally. With a strong emphasis on development, the tournament is fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship, crucial for the growth of rugby in the region.

As the action unfolds in Sigatoka, fans and players alike are gearing up for an exciting continuation of this event. The Coral Coast 7s not only showcases the talent of established teams but also inspires the next generation of players, promising a bright future for rugby in the Pacific Islands.
