The Fiji Roads Authority has announced the immediate temporary closure of Qawa Crossing, also referred to as Baubale Crossing, located in Bulileka, Labasa. This closure will remain effective until further notice.
In response to the situation, warning and advisory signs have been placed to inform motorists, who are urged to modify their travel plans as necessary. Crews from the Authority are currently working on establishing a temporary bypass downstream from the crossing to ensure continued public access.
This bypass is anticipated to be finished by midday tomorrow, December 2, 2025. The Fiji Roads Authority has expressed gratitude to road users for their patience and understanding while essential upgrade works are carried out. This proactive approach aims to improve the infrastructure and overall safety for the community.
