PwC Triumphs in Nail-Biting Super Six Tournament Finale!

Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) secured a narrow victory over Vinod Patel 1 by six runs to emerge as the champions of the Super Six Business House Tournament, concluding at Albert Park in Suva last Saturday.

In a thrilling match, PwC scored 80 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, while Vinod Patel 1 fell short with a total of 74 runs and 4 wickets down. Sakuna Shehara from PwC was awarded the player of the match, while Vinura Yoshan from PwC led the tournament in runs scored, amassing a total of 317 runs. On the bowling front, Shenal Perera from Vinod Patel 1 took the most wickets of the tournament, claiming nine in total.

Sumanta Rout, a board member of the Suva Cricket Association, praised the matches held yesterday as exceptional, highlighting the competitive spirit as the tournament progressed into the elimination rounds. He remarked, “It was fantastic with all the teams entering the field with their A game. Now we have concluded the matches and the results are clear.”

Rout acknowledged the intense competition among teams, noting the standout performances from certain squads. “Competition was very tight; some teams excelled and battled fiercely against one another.”

In the semi-finals, PwC triumphed over Brown Engineering by 2 wickets, while Vinod Patel won against Narseys Plastic 1 by 5 wickets. In the quarter-finals, PwC defeated Tappoos by 77 runs, Danam won by 4 wickets against Brown Engineering, Narseys Plastic prevailed by 4 wickets over Total Energy 2, and Vinod Patel 1 emerged victorious by 5 wickets over Vinod Patel 2.
