Kolkata’s batting struggled severely against Punjab’s bowlers, particularly Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen, who combined for seven wickets, with Chahal claiming 4 for 28 and Jansen 3 for 17. Commenting on the game, Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer stated, “It is tough to talk right now, such wins make it special… Looking at the win of 16 runs.” He noted the challenges posed by the pitch, which had variable bounce making it pivotal for bowlers to capitalize on the conditions.
