Public’s Help Needed to Identify Fatal Accident Victim in Navua

Traffic authorities are calling on the public for help in identifying a victim involved in a tragic road accident that occurred early on the 1st of this month in the Southern Division.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana reported that the victim, a man believed to be in his late 20s, was found sleeping in the middle of Queens Road near Talenaua, Navua, when he was struck by a 36-year-old driver around 1 a.m. Emergency responders rushed the victim to Navua Hospital; however, he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, but the victim’s identity remains unknown. SSP Divuana described the man as an i-taukei male and has released images of his clothing and a notable tattoo on his left arm in hopes that someone may recognize him and provide information.
