Many people celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad yesterday with various planned activities and worship at homes and mosques, while others took advantage of the public holiday to enjoy picnics across the country. The sunny and breezy weather made it an ideal day for family outings.

Among the revelers were members of the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church, who began their day with a service followed by team-building activities and a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the wife of the church’s senior pastor, Suresh Kumar, expressed enthusiasm about the turnout and activities, stating that the event was focused on team bonding and family gathering. She highlighted the range of games they engaged in, including a spoon race, apple and bun eating contests, duck and wheelbarrow races, touch rugby, and concluded the day with swimming.

At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, enjoyed their picnic as a welcome break from school and work. Father Kibae described the outing as perfect for relaxation, and his 15-year-old son, Caleb Ueanimaraki, concurred, noting that it was a nice retreat with family before the return to school.
