“Protecting Our Heroes: Safety Measures for Healthcare Workers Unveiled”

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services emphasizes that the safety and well-being of healthcare workers assigned to nursing stations and health centers nationwide is a primary concern.

In a recent statement, the Ministry condemned any individual or community actions that disrespect healthcare staff and create a sense of fear, acknowledging the significant sacrifices made by these professionals in their service.

The Ministry noted that there has been a delay in appointing a new nurse to the Naililili Nursing Station in Rewa, following a series of robberies at the nursing station’s quarters last December. Currently, the nurse is based at Wainibokasi Hospital and visits Naililili once a month to conduct Maternal Child Health Clinics and special outpatient services.

Additionally, a laborer is tasked with cleaning the nursing station on a monthly basis.

As part of their plan, the Ministry intends to install fencing and carry out minor renovations at the Naililili facility, while urging the local community to contribute to the safety of healthcare workers serving throughout the country.
