A three-member Tribunal has commenced its hearings this week to investigate allegations of misbehavior against suspended Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde. The Tribunal is presided over by Justice Anare Tuilevuka, accompanied by members Justice Samuela Qica and Justice Chaitanya Lakshman.
Last week, Pryde communicated with Justice Tuilevuka, expressing his inability to partake in the hearings. In his correspondence, he raised concerns regarding the fairness of the proceedings, stating that he has been deprived of adequate means to defend himself.
The hearings are scheduled to start at 9 am each day throughout the week.
In light of the situation, it is crucial for the integrity of the judicial process to ensure that all involved parties receive a fair opportunity to present their case. This is a significant moment for accountability within the legal system, and it holds the potential for positive changes that could enhance transparency and fairness in future proceedings.
