In a recent meeting, Divisional Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima gathered team leaders from crucial sectors, including the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), Police, Fire Services, Ministry of Education, Fiji Red Cross, Fiji Meteorological Services, and Land Transport Authority. The goal was to finalize operational plans and ensure that necessary resources are in place to support affected communities.

Currently, the FRA has reported that connecting roads across the island remain clear and accessible, despite experiencing heavy rain overnight. The Fiji Meteorological Service has provided a detailed weather forecast, allowing stakeholders to fine-tune their preparedness strategies.

In an effort to safeguard the community, the Ministry of Education has been notified to prepare schools as potential evacuation centers if needed.
