Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is urging the people of Kadavu to maintain pressure on officials to ensure timely action on development projects.

Issuing an apology to the people of Kadavu for the slow utilisation of funds allocated for the province’s development, Rabuka acknowledged the delays and urged islanders to actively follow-up with various government ministries regarding the progress of local projects.

Rabuka emphasized that they have the right to hold the government accountable and to ensure that development within their communities proceeds as planned.

He clarified that unspent development funds from the last financial year remain in the Finance Ministry’s budget.

The Kadavu Provincial Council meeting is being held at Suva Civic Centre and concludes today.
